Robinson Hornsby first opened its Tickhill office in 1999, since when we have helped 100’s of homeowners find their dream property. Long regarded as one of the areas most sought after towns, the market has continued to thrive, in spite of economic uncertainty.

With a strong local community, highly regarded junior / infant schools and a superb variety of independent shops, bars and restaurants, it’s easy to see why Tickhill attracts such strong demand. In spite of a population of only around 5,500 , the town has a real ‘buzz’ and newcomers are made to feel welcome with a variety of clubs and activities to get involved with.

As well as enjoying a strong sales market, the town also attracts ‘buy to let’ investors, with attractive rental returns as well as the promise of good capital growth. Small 2 bed homes start at around £130,000, with 3 bedroom semi detached properties now commanding between £150,000 - £200,000.

As a popular retirement location, Tickhill has a particularly high demand for bungalows, and the housing stock fortunately provides an unusually high proportion of one level accommodation. Demand is such that the more ‘affordable’ styles of 2 bedroom semi detached bungalows have seen an increase in value of over 20% since 2015, whist commanding more than a £20,000 price increase on a similar sized semi detached houses.

For those needing good communication links, Tickhill can’t be beaten, with easy access to the motorway routes, Doncaster Airport as well as Doncaster and Retford, which both offer rail links to London in less than 1hr 40 mins.

So, if you’re looking for a quintessentially English town, surrounded by open countryside, yet offering an easy commute to local towns, Tickhill could be the place for you.
